I Turn Trial into Triumph…

I’m a record-breaking Frostbitten Mountaineer, Author, Business and Educational Speaker, but what can I do for you..?  I can inspire audiences, help them understand changing times and how to deal with them.

Change has been part of my life – physically, mentally and in business.  Losing parts of your body and having to adapt to what’s left is a hard battle to fight, but fight we must.  Having a focus is vital as it gives us a sense of achievement and release – for me it was mountaineering.  Uncertainty is something we all have to live with.  It’s how we deal with it, and cope with the changes it brings, that define who we are in life.  We have no excuses to sit down, complain and expect others to do everything for us.  Through my keynotes, I take people on a journey of change where Tribulation was turned into Triumph.

In Business

I’ve worked through privatisation’s and takeovers in business for over 30 years, and I’ve seen what they do to people.  They bring uncertainty, change and fear.  We must expect change in this modern world, but it must be handled carefully and respectfully.  I’ve seen too many management teams come blazing into an industry, full of new ideas, but without a thought for the people who will be working for them.  Remember what is your most important asset.  It is not the buildings or the things you sell, but the people around you. They are what make a business successful…

In Education

Children soak up information at a great rate.  They demand new experiences and knowledge to inspire and drive them as they grow, but these must come from someone who has been through these experiences.  Someone who has felt the excitement, achievement, fear, pain, tears and laughter that life can throw at them.  I’ve presented to pupils from 8 to 18 years old, from classrooms to sport halls and I deliver every time!

Some testimonials…

“Nigel’s keynote was an inspiration to the audience which included around 140 of the brightest power engineering students in the UK.  He captivated that audience throughout and the students continued to comment on the messages of courage, determination and teamwork well into the night (and indeed continued talking about it many days later).”

Brian Simmers – Rolls Royce

“Nigel hits you between the eyes – this is just the challenge those who aspire for excellence need. Leadership, in any field, comes with huge responsibility – put that with effective teamwork and mountains can be climbed … literally!  Resilience at it’s best – a story that should be heard by many”

Sarah Hopwood – Business Excellence Consultant

“Nigel’s presentation was a motivational one from his first few words had the audience engaged and committed to his story, sharing personal experiences and business attributes in a fantastic presentation delivered with humour and fun!”

Claire Curzon – MD Brighter Directions

Some people call me brave, others call me mad. To face the thin air at high altitude takes a bit of both, but there is nothing like being high on a mountain.  Losing limbs to severe frostbite would put off all but the few, but to me it was the springboard to climb, achieve and conquer.

I continue on life’s adventure, forcing new boundaries and new experiences every day of my life…

“I don’t want to die in an unused body…”
