Though we work, it’s what goes on in the background that changes our lives. Some days were not at our best because we’ve been up all night with a sick child, ended up in hospital because of an accident or sat crying with a friend who needs support. Caring is exhausting work, but we do it because we love the people we care for. So next time you see someone at work yawning or a little bedraggled, don’t always assume that they’ve been out on the town until dawn – they might need support and a friendly smile…
